Contraindications

Despite a wide range of applications, the H-MVE protocol is not a universal method and in certain cases its use requires special care or is not recommended.

The main contraindications include:

-acute psychotic episodes

- Severe dissociative disorder

-states of deep derealisation or depersonalisation

- fresh, unprocessed traumatic experiences e.g. after a severe event (e.g. accident, loss, life-threatening situation)

- some neurological disorders (e.g. epilepsy, especially with visual stimulation)

It should be stressed that some of the above contraindications are of a relative nature, which means that, after proper preparation (e.g. stabilisation, psychoeducation, preliminary work) it is possible to safely use the elements of the protocol.

It is crucial to have proper qualifications and to adapt the intensity and form of work to the current capabilities of the nervous system of a person.
